My name is Stella Cross, and I’m a sophomore from Malvern, Pennsylvania, currently enrolled at Laurel Springs School, where I maintain a 3.9 GPA. I’ve been riding for about eight years and have spent the past four years competing on the A circuit, developing both my passion and skills in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings.

 

In December 2023, I stepped into the 3’3” Junior Hunters and quickly found success, qualifying for Junior Hunter Finals and Devon in my first year at that height. I now ride two incredible equitation horses, Coltrane and Alalux, and compete in the 3’3” and 3’6” medals. Highlights of my recent season include showing at Devon, Split Rock, and the Gladstone Cup, earning scores in the 80s and consistently placing well in top-level equitation classes.

 

I train with Troy Hendricks, and I’m incredibly dedicated both in and out of the saddle. I show up early, stay late, and always put the horses first — whether that means tacking up, helping my trainers, or mentoring younger riders in the barn. Outside of competition, I volunteer with the Thorncroft Equestrian Center’s therapeutic riding program, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

 

What excites me most about college riding is the opportunity to be part of a true team environment, where I can bond with teammates, grow under experienced coaches, and continue learning from the horses I love. I’m passionate, focused, and always willing to give 110% — and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
